SET OF 7 VINTAGE EMBROIDERED SEW-ON CLOTH PATCHES FROM THE 70s SET INCLUDES: Ford Motor Shield Crest: (Diameter: 2 3/4") In 1927, Ford introduced the "Ford Crest" logo, which incorporated the Blue Oval within a shield-shaped crest. This crest featured various elements like a castle, lions, and a shield, symbolizing strength and heritage. Ford Racing Emblem: (H: 2" x W: 4 1/2") This design likely emerged in the early 1960s, coinciding with Ford's increased involvement in motorsports and the rise of its performance models like the Mustang and Shelby Cobra. The eagle represents power, speed, and freedom, aligning with the spirit of racing and high-performance vehicles. The checkered flag symbolizes the finish line and victory in racing. These patches were produced throughout the 1960s and into the early 1970s. Chicago Sun-Times "I Beat the Champion" Bowling 1975/76 bpa: (H: 2" x W: 3 1/2") My grandfather was an avid bowler in Chicago, and he won this patch participating in this charity bowling sponsored by the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper and Chicago Bowling Proprietors Association (BPA) for over 54 years. HDNK/HRVAT Croatia/Chicago Soccer Team: (H: 4 1/4" x W: 4") Shield design featuring the American and Croatian flag with a soccer motif. The club was founded in 1963 and is historically the most successful Croatian club in the US. 1975/76 American Bowling Congress League Champion: (Diameter: 3") Again, this was won by my grandfather in Chicago. The American Bowling Congress (ABC) was founded in 1895, and is the governing body for men's bowling in the United States. It organizes and oversees various bowling leagues and tournaments. The ABC organizes leagues into different divisions based on skill level. This patch is from a championship win at the league level. Circus World Museum: VERY RARE. (Diameter: 3 1/2") Patch shows a wagon wheel design. Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin was established in 1959, on the grounds of the winter quarters of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Currently, the museum is owned and operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society. Wm K. Walthers Inc. 40th Anniversary: (H: 2" x W: 4") Wm. K.
